NORTH WEST MAKES US WANT TO WEAR SNEAKERS WITH A SLIP DRESS

She may not have existed in the '90s, but damn, can she pull of a '90s-inspired look. The world's most adorable style icon, fashion toddler North West, spent Monday in New York City hanging out with her parents, who were fresh from an evening of causing jaws everywhere to drop at the VMAs. And she proved once again that, style-wise, she can fully hold her own with Kim and Kanye.

The tiny ball of cuteness wore a leopard-print slip dress with a simple blackchoker and black Yeezys for her day out and about (they went to the movies!) in the city. And honestly, we'd wear it all. If only we had access to North's notoriously enviable closet, that is.

Also, here's a bonus photo of li'l North just PTFO as Kim shushes the surrounding paparazzi. Just because... omghowcute.

THE DUDES HAD THE MOST FUN ON THE 2016 VMAS RED CARPET

When it comes to the MTV Video Music Awards, we expect to see a lot of butts, naked dresses and head-scratching ensembles on the red carpet. But as we mentioned in our best dressed roundup, a number of celebrities (Kim Kardashian included) took a tamer approach this time around.

Instead, it appears that the guys had the most fun with their outfits: FromJaden Smith's cat coat to P. Diddy's questionable kimono, the sky was the limit to Sunday night's sartorial choices. Most of those looks didn't even include a shirt, as Desiigner, G-Eazy and Jeremy Scott, to name a few, bared their chests for the cameras.

KIM KARDASHIAN HONESTLY TOPS OUR 2016 VMA BEST DRESSED LIST

The MTV Video Music Awards are unlike any other awards show. It's not really a place for formal gowns, and the goal isn't really to get on a best dressed listIt's more about making a statement and looking "cool," which some celebrities achieved more successfully than others. There's also a tendency to want to look naked — though, while present, that aesthetic wasn't quite as prevalent as it's been in previous years.
In fact, it was her ability to capture that naked look without looking vulgar that made Kim Kardashian a unanimous top pick for best dressed among the Fashionista team. From her "wet" hair to her flawless, fresh makeup to that sheer, off-one-shoulder black dress that showed off her insane body, it was her best look in recent memory and perfect for this event. (She confirmed on Twitter that it's vintage John Galliano.)

We also loved Beyoncé protégés Chloe & Halle Bailey (even if we hadn't heard of them before tonight) in Rodarte, "It"-model Taylor Hill in Moschino,Naomi Campbell in Brandon Maxwell and many more. Click through the gallery below to see all our picks for the 10 best dressed from the MTV VMA's red carpet. Disagree? Tell us in the comments.

ELLE FANNING WAS A TEENAGE DREAM IN A KOOKY, NEXT-LEVEL MARC JACOBS DRESS

From sparkly, sequined frocks to ruffles galore, it's clear Elle Fanning isn't one to shy away a major red carpet fashion moment. And in what is one of our favorite appearances of hers to date, the 18-year-old actress wore a tulle strapless gown from Marc Jacobs's resort 2017 collection to Variety's Power of Young Hollywood event on Tuesday. Here, stars including Fanning, Jaden Smith and Ansel Elgort spoke on their experiences growing up in the spotlight and how they've dealt with online bullying.

The dress is seriously next-level. It's studded with embroidered patches and whimsical pins including dominoes, a champagne glass, a shooting star and a female surfer. It's basically the "Where's Waldo" version of eveningwear, and it's awesome.

It's worth noting that the "Neon Demon" actress also kept her undergarments visible, styling the dress just as it came down the runway with a meant-to-be-seen colorblocked purple bralette. To keep all the attention on the gown, Fanning kept her accessories simple: elegant black satin pumps — also courtesy of Marc Jacobs — and a Christian Louboutin box clutch (not pictured). Fashion-minded youths of the Internet, take note.

THIS WEEK'S BEST DRESSED KEPT THINGS LIGHT IN WHITE

By now, we can all agree that "no white after Labor Day" is an outdated style rule, but any conversation about wearing the shade in the last days of summer would be remiss to not mention it. Few things are as undeniably summery as a white dress — as exemplified by Natalie Portman and Emily Blunt this week in Dior and David Koma, respectively — so with only two weeks to go before the unofficial end of the season, why not wear the hell out of all your ivory looks now? It's okay to follow the rules, even if no one cares about them anymore.

Portman's Dior frock was one of several all-white looks she chose to promote her directorial debut this week in New York, and the results were as delicate and directional as we've come to expect from her. Meanwhile, Amy Schumer and Zosia Mamet incorporated white separates with easy basics, and Elle Fanning pumped up the volume in a delightfully embroidered white tulle strapless gown.

Elsewhere, Zoe Saldana and Sofia Black-D'Elia wore show-stopping golden metallic gowns, while Bradley Cooper and Jonah Hill proved their lightweight suits could handle a big ol' hug.

BEYONCÉ DEMONSTRATES HOW TO WEAR A POWER SUIT OUTSIDE THE OFFICE

Beyoncé just single-handedly resurrected the late '90s/early 2000s lady power suit, and, well, bless her for it. She and Jay Z both suited up for Monday night's New York City premiere of the film "Hands of Stone," which starsUsher and Robert De Niro (a totally logical duo?). Beyoncé's take on the look was a double-breasted pinstripe jacket, paired with a matching mini (mini, mini) skirt by French label Pallas. The jacket originally retailed for $2,005, but is now on sale for $701; what are you waiting for?????

Elle pointed out the look's Ally McBeal vibes, which is a pretty spot-on description, given the super-short skirt and '90s silhouette. But for some reason, the first thing that came to mind for me was Tyra Banks's character Eve from the 2000 classic film, "Life Size."

LADY GAGA WORE A SULTRIER VERSION OF MICHELLE OBAMA’S BRANDON MAXWELL DRESS

Earlier this week, First Lady Michelle Obama wore Brandon Maxwell for the first time to a White House state dinner. The general public, ourselves included, was very excited about this elegant, minimalist outfit choice, and by an American designer, no less! And the silhouette is emerging as a signature for Maxwell, as he made a very similar piece for his OG client, Lady Gaga, to wear two days later.

She made an appearance at BFF Tony Bennett's 90th birthday party at New York City's swanky Rainbow Room on Wednesday. You'll notice that her gown does, indeed, resemble Mrs. Obama's quite a bit, differing in material (Gaga's was velvet, not sponge crepe), color (black, not ivory) and neckline (rounded, not straight-across). But wait, there's more! Gaga's dress had not one, but two thigh-high slits at the front — a feature that wouldn't exactly fly for the First Lady of the Free World.

Then, the accessories. I imagine everything here was included to make Gaga look as Marilyn Monroe-like as possible: the blingy jewelry, the platform heels, the glossy red lip. It was her Bennett best, if you will, and she nailed it. But of course, that's not hard to do when you have Maxwell in your corner.

SUMMER MOVIE PREMIERES BROUGHT US THE WEEK'S BEST DRESSED

Hey, did you hear about this new movie called "Suicide Squad"? Apparentlyeverybody's in it, and even though the reviews are abysmal, the cast's big names aren't letting you forget that the hopeful summer blockbuster is in theaters now. To that end, stars including Cara Delevingne and Margot Robbie have turned their fashion volume way, way up — perhaps inspired by the movie's fantastical theme — delivering a whole lot of lewk for every premiere and press appearance. Throw Jared Leto into the mix and we get enough Gucci to make our heads spin. "Suicide Squad" didn't have the monopoly on solid press tour fashion, though: People turned up in style for a quiet affair to premiere "Sausage Party." Yes, that's an R-rated animated movie for adults.

Meanwhile beyond the cineplex, other stylish people gathered to celebrate Amy Astley's new EIC gig at Architectural Digest, to wish Tony Bennett a very happy 90th birthday and, of course, to welcome the Prime Minister of Singapore to the White House. The looks ranged from pattern-happy shirt dresses to dramatic, monochromatic gowns and everything in between.

JARED LETO'S GUCCI DREAMS CAME TRUE AT THE 'SUICIDE SQUAD' PREMIERE

Have you ever laid eyes on a gorgeous piece of clothing and knew right then and there, in your heart, that it just had to be yours?
Well, I have... and so has Jared Leto.
Leto sat front row at the most recent Gucci menswear show in Milan, and when the first look hit the runway — a bold double-breasted green coat — well, Leto's facial expression says it all. Let's take a closer look, shall we?

Leto, who plays the Joker in "Suicide Squad," was reunited with the statement-making look on the red carpet at the film's London premiere on Tuesday night, and we here at the Fashionista offices happen to think he smashed it. Continue to live your best self, Jared Leto. And consider this some pretty solid proof that love at first sight does exist.
